Visual Task Tips is a very small application, that shows you the preview of any of the minimized applications running on your machine. You just need to point at the application’s task bar icon and a window will pop up showing you a snapshot preview of the active window. Technically, it stores a preview of the active application and shows it to you as a thumbnail, with a similar look as on Vista.
This utility is easy to install and setup, though, right now, it is only available for Vista and Windows XP operating systems, and it will work only if the Classic theme has been selected. You can really enhance your productivity by using this application. In fact, if the thumbnail size is big enough, you will be able to read small fonts directly from the preview itself.
Visual Task Tips' setting screen allows you to set the size of the thumbnail, the time delay before the preview window pops up, as long as the refresh rate. However, if you set the refresh rate to be high, chances are that your computer’s performance will suffer. This utility is absolutely free for non-commercial purposes.
